Background
In the Tauranga District Court, Judge Rollo decided against imposing a minimum non-parole period of two thirds. However he later realised he erred when sentencing Maui that he had no jurisdiction to impose a minimum non-parole period exceeding 10 years of Maui's 18 year sentence.
