Walker had offered a woman a ride home from a party at Mangonui and had begun physical and verbal assaults on her. During the ordeal Kemp raped her while Walker stood on her legs. At one stage the victim tried to escape but was chased by the men in their car and knocked down. At the end of her ordeal she was dumped on the roadside.
