A prominent Maungaturoto businessman who was found guilty of molesting a 16-year-old girl will be allowed to continue running his business after being sentenced to home detention. Yashni Kant, 44, owns the Maungaturoto Four Square and until recently was president of the local RSA. He has since resigned. He was sentenced in the Whangarei District Court yesterday to six months' home detention after being found guilty on two counts of indecent assault. Judge Duncan Harvey said the charges related to an incident on October 26, 2005, when Kant grabbed a 16-year-old girl when he was alone with her.
