TV3 News report here with a video clip attached
An Auckland man was jailed for one year today after being found guilty of distributing a 20-minute film showing a three-year-old girl being raped. Robert Ibbetson, a 28-year-old shop manager, had consistently shown no remorse, said Judge Roy Wade during today's sentencing in Auckland District Court. Ibbetson was caught after a Department of Internal Affairs investigation tracked the movie to his computer's IP address, 3News reported tonight. He was also charged and found guilty of possessing 13 films showing children aged between three and 14 being raped and sexually violated. Because Ibbetson had show no remorse, Judge Wade rejected an application for home detention, and jailed Ibbetson for a year.
