A man involved in a gang melee at Paparua Prison, in which a man was stabbed repeatedly, has been convicted in the Christchurch District Court of a wounding charge. Kevin David Curran, 31, unemployed, was charged with wounding Black Power associate, David James Barlow, with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. Judge Stephen Erber remanded Curran in custody to February 11 for sentence, and called for probation and victim-impact reports.
