Information from The New Zealand Paedophile and Sex Offender Index, New 2004 Edition
Cotterill forced the woman into the bathroom, ripped her clothes and assaulted her while her young daughter screamed outside the room. The woman escaped but Cotterill carried her back into the house and abused neighbours who tried to intervene. The woman was assaulted again before she was able to jump from a bedroom window and run for help.
