Background
Two charges of sexually violating and indecently assaulting a 15 year old boy in two seperate incidents, including one where he had oral sex with the boy, who is believed to have the mental ability of a 12 year old. These offences took place just six months after Coles' release from prison where he had served part of an 11 year sentence for other sex crimes. Since 1964 he has accumulated 38 convictions for indecencies with boys and he volunteered for chemical castration after the last conviction but this was refused. Justice Ellis said he felt the procedure would be better for Coles at the end of his prison term
