A probation report noted Chrisp completed the Te Piriti child sex offenders treatment programme which didn't work. Health assessor reports state his reluctance to accept responsibility for a crime he was found guilty of, lack of remorse and empathy, significant risk of reoffending and to shift responsibility onto the victims or minimises the impact of his actions on his victims. The pre-sentence report also recorded Chrisp's failure to accept that he committed any offences, no remorse, high risk of reoffending and the fact his offending is related to issues of sexual arousal and the use of violence.
