A Wellington man who was caught in a United States' child pornography investigation has been sentenced to serve 250 hours' community work and 12 months' supervision. Salesman Grant Gordon Carter, 41, was sentenced in Wellington District Court on Wednesday on 25 charges of importing objectionable publications. Carter's lawyer, Brooke Gibson, asked that his client be fined for his offending, but Judge Walker noted the offending involved sexualised images of very young children. The judge said that had to be balanced against the fact that Carter had sought treatment and had pleaded guilty at an early stage
