Background
Information from The New Zealand Paedophile and Sex Offender Index, New 2004 Edition
Pleaded guilty to one charge each of indecent assault and entering a property with intent to commit a crime. The judge said the victim was petrified she would be raped in the assault; "It was a terrifying sexual assault of a woman in her own home in her own bed." Since then the woman was too scared to go outside, be alone, and had tried to change her looks. Defence counsel said Anderson had pleaded guilty only because his alibi witnesses, he alleged, had been intimidated by community members and would not testify. He did not accept reponsibility for the crime.
