The Sensible Sentencing Trust does not approach victims directly, as we believe that victims are already vulnerable and deserving of their privacy. The victims' stories and pictures in this site have been provided with permission from their families. Many have approached Trust in the hope that others will learn from their sadness and frustration. We sincerely thank these families

When victims approach the Trust their privacy and confidentiality is assured. We do not release private information without the full co-operation of victims.

Details about drunk or drugged drivers provided on this site are a matter of public record, as they have previously been convicted in New Zealand courts. We do not report sub judice information.
