Are the Appeal Court Judges who reduced the sentence of convicted murderer and rapist Liam Reid.
The Sensible Sentencing Trust says the decision to place the names of the Judges on the Sensible Sentencing Trust website was not taken lightly.
Trust Spokesman Garth McVicar said “Judges sentence on behalf of the community and their sentences must reflect the concerns of that community.”
“I sat through much of the trial and sentencing of Liam Reid in the Christchurch High Court. Judge Chisholm’s comments and ultimate 26 year sentence reflected the concerns and mood of New Zealanders.”
“The decision by Justices O’Regan, Arnold and Ellen France is an insult to Emma Agnew’s family but it is also an affront to the communities these Judges represent.”
The complete Appeal Court decision on Liam Reid is here (Rich Text file, will open in Word or similar). Read more about the Judges concened here.

Garth McVicar
