POLICE CONGRATULATED BY SENSIBLE SENTENCING TRUST

(7th May 2008)

Following the successful raid against the sale and distribution of methamphetamines and money laundering, Kelly Te Heuheu, Maori Crime issues specialist for the Sensible Sentencing Trust, congratulates and acknowledges the dedicated commitment by Detective Inspector John Tims, his team and the armed offenders squad.

The significant impact of this raid against the Killer Beez and Tribesmen gangs clearly shows the determination and hard work by the police to rid our country of this scourge known to destroy the lives of many victims and their families.

Police funding and legislative tools are limited and this must be acknowledged given the circumstances and pressure of the police to deliver in these circumstances.

Recognition and reward must be forthcoming by the government for this great achievement under dangerous circumstances.

They all deserve a moral boost.
