Sensible Sentencing Trust
(6th March 2007)
The reports from the Corrections Department and Parole Board into the Graeme Burton debacle are littered from start to finish with bureaucratic waffling and cover-ups, phrases that mean nothing, do nothing and achieve nothing says the Sensible Sentencing Trust.
"They are Claytons reports that pay lip service to an issue that cost Karl Kuchenbecker his life" said Trust spokesman Garth McVicar.
"This bureaucratic drivel is an insult to the Kuchenbecker family, the one smidgen of hope they had was that somewhere, someone may have had a bit of integrity and a bit of honesty. This hope is now gone and the family are left devastated by the white wash and cover up of their sons murder."
Mr McVicar said "Nothing has been learnt from the William Bell RSA killings in 2001, once again there was a bureaucratic cover-up that left three innocent people dead."
"Parole is a failed experiment and should be abolished immediately."
Regards,
Garth McVicar
National Spokesperson,
Sensible Sentencing Trust.
