The Sensible Sentencing Trust Maori Crime issues specialist Kelly Te Heuheu would like to take this opportunity to thank Louise Nicholas. There is much appreciation and support for her courageous battle in exposing the abhorrent crimes against her by the police officers who betrayed and hurt her in her most tender years as a beautiful trusting young girl, at a time when most teenagers have utmost trust and respect for people in authority.
Thank you so much Louise for taking a step further through your own grief and being a voice and support for other victims who have also suffered horrendous rapes and abuse.
You have great support among our people especially among our Maori Women.
We thank you for giving our country back our reputable police force. Without you the police would have never been given the chance to correct the wrongs committed by those offenders amongst them.
You may have lost the battle in court against Clint Rickards, Brad Shipton and Bob Schollum but you have won with God and the nation, for in the end the accused will have to bow their head to them in shame. No amount of excuses and accusations from the rapists will make any difference - you have the nation and God's gratitude and respect.
May your future journey be one of peace, safety, security and happiness.
Kia Kaha Louise and our heartfelt respect to your husband, children and whanau.”
Regards,
Kelly Te Heuheu
