At last a Sensible Political Policy

The son of murdered Tokoroa school teacher Lois Dear believes the National party's DNA proposal has a lot of merit and will act as a deterrent for criminals.

Kevin McNeil says it appears National has put a lot of consideration into this policy and he believes it will act as a deterrent and mean ultimately mean those on the database will think seriously before committing more crimes, but he adds wistfully, "If ever they do think."

"Mums killer Whetu TeHiko was apprehended quickly due to a prior voluntary DNA sample, had this not been the case mums murderer would still be at large."

Kevin says DNA samples should not be any problem for those that don't commit crimes. "For those that do, this proposal will endeavor to stop repeat offending, and this I believe has got to be good for 95 percent of law abiding New Zealanders."

Kevin is extremely angry at Civil Liberties and the Green Party for opposing National's policy saying they always appear to be on the side of the criminals.

"As a victim I find this extremely insulting."

"Keith Locke, the party you are aligned with is only there with a mere 5 percent party vote, why don’t you make a noise toward the good and safety of all New Zealanders, tax payers are your providers not the criminal fraternity."

"Good on you John Key and the National party for committing to a hard line on crime, one can only hope if you are elected the hard line on crime will be implemented. All of New Zealand will back you – apart from Civil Liberties and the Greens of course."
