So little Lillybing’s murderer is out of prison. Rachealle Namana was jailed for six years in 2001. She’s out now, having served four years and, according to the March 5 front page story in the Sunday Star Times, had a great time in prison smoking P and watching porn.
She was released last year and finished parole last month. Why did she get out early? Isn’t early release for those who have not only shown remorse (which Rachealle clearly hasn’t) and good behaviour?
How smuggling P into prison and bragging about her accessibility to porn exemplifies either is nothing short of alarming. Our prison system is in chaos if a woman can be released before her sentence is up and is no way repentant or rehabilitated. In this case, it is obvious she has embedded herself even more into the lifestyle that led her to kill her step-sister’s daughter.
Wake up Damien O’Connor! The buck stops with you when these thugs are released onto our streets early!
