Sensible Sentencing Trust congratulate Detective Sergeant Brian Schaab and the police team involved in the Teresa Cormack inquiry
Dedication and determination over 15 years has finally led to an arrest. Our police force is often criticised by members of the public and politicians alike, but police have a very difficult job at times and they deserve our support.
Now the wheels of justice begin to turn in the Teresa Cormack case and the Sensible Sentencing Trust will be watching the developments closely.
92% of New Zealanders clearly wanted Justice Reform at the last election, their concerns have yet to be acted on.
It's time for all New Zealanders to combine forces on the issue, 'Life should mean life" - whole of life for those who commit despicable acts of premeditated murder.
Teresa's family will suffer the real life sentence - our thoughts are with them. The Victims and their families seem to be the forgotton ones.
Thank you
Regards,
Garth McVicar
National Spokesperson,
Sensible Sentencing Trust.
