If the Government had listened and acted on the Mandate they were given from the referendum at the last election the policeman brutally slain yesterday may still have been alive.
The public demanded a Reform of the Justice System. A proper reform would surely insure that anyone, no matter what age, would not be on our streets after committing a previous firearms offence.
Was the offender on bail, for that offence?
Who will be held accountable for the tragic death of this policeman simply trying to do his duty and protect the public.
As a Nation it is surely time we demanded changes to our laws that will insure that the Rights of law abiding citizens are paramount to those of the criminals.
The "do gooders" who have introduced the "soft love thy Criminal" laws are responsible for New Zealand heading down the slippery trail of destruction.
