National's Law and Order Policy released yesterday is a step in the right direction said Sensible Sentencing spokeperson Garth McVicar.
Sensible Sentencing has been working with all the political parties on various aspects of their Law and Order Policies. It has always been our intention to get all parties to adopt a "hard line" on this issue.
If New Zealand is ever to get on top of this Violent Crime epidemic we must acknowledge any move in this direction.
We congratulate National on this policy; we would also like to congratulate Phil Goff on his proposed DNA legislation.
Both National and Labour policies are a move towards making safer communities and ensuring that those who break the Law pay the price Mr McVicar said.
Regards,
Garth McVicar
National Spokesperson,
Sensible Sentencing Trust.
