A Hamilton roofer has appeared in court on burglary, drug and firearm charges. Nathan Taal, 27, appeared before Community Magistrate Pat Fergusson in the Hamilton District Court on Tuesday on four charges of burglary, a charge of threatening to kill, possession of an airgun, firearm and methamphetamine pipe, and presenting an air gun. Taal entered no plea to the charges and his lawyer, Gordon Matenga, said he would elect trial by jury. Taal was remanded on bail to appear for a pre-depositions hearing on September 20.
