Submitting an Offender or additional information for Offender Databases

We do not enter into correspondence regarding the guilt/innocence of offenders. Such correspondence is not responded to, especially if the offender concerned has a number of prior convictions (in which case it's destined straight for the Recycle Bin!) The only exception that my be made is where a substantial pre-existing case for a retrial or inquiry has been made publically, such as in the Scott Watson case.

If you wish to advise us of the death of an offender we need EITHER a link to a media article OR a scan or photocopy of the death notice in the paper or death certificate or some other proof. This can be either emailed it to us here

If you are advising us of a new offender not already on the database, we MUST HAVE the following information to be able to proceed;

• Name
• Legal description of at least the primary offence(s) - e.g. sexual violation, grevious bodily harm, etc
• Date the offender was convicted in court - at least the month and year - this is vital!
• Location of offence(s) - region, town or suburb is all we need

The above pieces of information are vital - without them we will be unable to proceed.
In addition, these pieces of information in order of importance will be helpful but are not absolutely vital

• A link to a media article about the conviction or offence
• Age of the offender (either now or at the time of the offence or conviction -please advise which)
• Date of the offence(s) (month and year at least)
• The length and type sentence handed down in court
• Date of the sentencing
• Any known gang association the offender had or has
• Details of any known criminal associates
• The victims name (ONLY if already widely published OR if the victim or their family have given permission
• Current location if known (exact address not needed, suburb and/or town is all we need)

This information, particularly the date of the conviction, makes it possible to search through media archives for more information, particularly items relating to a successful conviction which are what we must have to be sure to avoid legal trouble. The name of the victim(s) is often also helpful, although we will not publish this unless we are requested to do so or if it has been widely published elsewhere. Please keep in mind that we are only interested in serious violent or sexual offenders/paedophiles that are still alive and in the country, and that have been active in the last twenty years or less. We also exclude anything that is a clearcut case of self-defence.

Generally the older a case is, the longer it will take for us to research it, as online media archives prior to late 1998 are scanty, and are non-existent for cases before about 1994 - but having a date of conviction will help no end! It takes time - and often lots of it - to confirm and validate information, particularly if it relates to a pre 1998 offence.

If you have a printed media article you can send us a copy of either by email or post, that will be extremely useful. However, if you have anything else, such as copies of court documents, etc and you can scan them and email them to us, that would be extremely helpful too.
