Background
From NZ Herald story September 1997
A youth who thought the law could not touch him has been sentenced to five years jail for a vicious robbery. Santene Marciano Robinson was last month found guilty of breaking into the home of Renee Pollock and attacking her attacking on March 30 when he was still only 14. In the High Court at Auckland yesterday the crown prosecutor Ross Burns, said when spoken to by police Robison told the officer: "You cannot do anything to me until I am 17." Sentencing Robinson, now 15, to five years jail, Justice Giles told him that he wanted to disabuse him of that notion straight away. He was mistaken if thought his youth would give him immunity. Robison continued to deny involvement and showed no remorse. He had shown no mercy to his 67-year-old victim.
