Found guilty of charges involving rape, unlawful sexual connection and assault, and penetration with a bottle and a hammer. The offences occurred at the gang's Sala Street headquarters in Rotorua on three women. The nine Mongrel Mob members were sentenced in the Auckland High Court to a total of nearly 80 years, with the ringleader of the gang rape jailed for 13 years, a record sentence for rape in NZ at that time.
