"Appearing before Justice McGechan in the High Court at Napier was Dean Trevor Mellsop, aged 25, of Napier who had previously been found not guilty of murder but guilty of manslaughter. The jury found his co-accused Luke Emmett Needham, aged 27, guilty of murder. The charges followed the death of 29 year old Robert James Te Rure who was shot in the chest in a Napier street on October 30."
