A man was found guilty yesterday by a High Court jury in Christchurch of raping two prostitutes at knife-point. Alesana Maanaima (34), unemployed, was remanded in custody by Justice Young for sentence on March 9. The Crown said Maanaima picked up the women from Manchester St on different nights and used a knife to threaten them before having sex. They both took the same number plate details after being dropped off.
