The 16 year old victim had been drinking alcohol with family and friends. The victim and two friends then walked in the neighbourhood. They made attempts to flag down passing motorists for a lighter to smoke cigarettes. Faaleaga pulled over telling them to get in. After the victim got in the car Faaleaga took her away without her consent and raped her three times.
