Darryn John Crowley,26,of Lower Hutt found guilty of the murder of Daniel Brian Fleming at a family New Years eve party at Hokio Beach, Levin in 1992. Crowley stabbed Fleming when he was caught attempting to steal a wallet and alcohol.

"Just six months before Daniel Fleming died, his killer had appeared in court for sentencing having been found guilty of wounding with intent to cause grevious bodily harm. On that occasion he had stabbed a man with a knife."
The victim's family have left the country since Daniel's murderer was released for reasons of personal safety
