Basehd and throttled her during an argument, then dumped the body in Lake Tekapo. The victim's family are working to prevent his being paroled.

A recent report compiled about Churchill and his time in prison indicated he had been involved in 17 documented incidents during his term of imprisonment, with two of the incidents taking place this year. The report said Churchill was capable of both violence and anger.
