Police reports state Cassidy punched Keiran in the head at least five times with such force his head was banging against the concrete and bouncing back up to reach Cassidy's fist.

Judge Geoff Rae said Cassidy was "spoiling for trouble". The victim was so violently beaten that his brain bled to such an extent he was unable to have surgery for fear he would die. The only mitigating factor was the offender pleaded guilty two days into a three day trial.
